Dolmens

Dolmens (also called portal tombs) are a form of single-chamber megalithic tomb common in Ireland and many parts of Europe, usually consisting of three or more upright stones supporting a large flat horizontal capstone (table). The oldest known dolmens can be found in Ireland, Scotland, Wales and parts of Northern France, where they were set in place around 7000 years ago. To learn more about dolmens, click here.
